COURSE OVERVIEW
Under provincial law, all personnel performing operations and maintenance on water treatment and distribution systems must be certified operators with a Grade 12 or a Grade 12 equivalency. Keewaytinook has initiated an 11 day (9 days of instruction and 2 days exam writing) in-class preparatory course to assist people in writing equivalency exams. COURSE OUTLINE
This 60-hour course is the first initiative of the Centre to give operators the opportunity to obtain their GED (General Educational Development) or Grade 12 equivalency. The focus of this course is on Math and English writing skills with an assessment of each person's ability to successfully complete the GED tests.
There are five areas to the GED exams: (1) Language Arts, Writing (Parts 1 and 2), (2) Language Arts, Reading, (3) Mathematics, (4) Science, and (5) Social Studies.
