COURSE OVERVIEW
This course will provide participants with a general understanding of the occurrence and nature of groundwater; how wells are designed and constructed; groundwater quality and wellhead protection; and pumps and well maintenance.
COURSE OUTLINE
Groundwater (types of source water, disinfection, water quality characteristics, pathways of contamination, source water protection, glossary of terms).
Wells (sources of groundwater, types of construction of wells, typical drilled well installations, well pumps, disinfecting groundwater with chlorine, chlorine Math, well abandonment, summary of well operations, glossary of terms).
Well Pumps (purposes and uses of well pumps, parts of pumps, pump operation, pump curves, troubleshooting guide for pumps, motors, drives).
