COURSE OVERVIEW
WHMIS and chemicals used in water treatment will give the water plant operator on-the-job training to learn about the hazards, labels, MSDSs, protection, emergency actions, special situations, and regulations. The operator will perform and interpret a variety of tests: chlorine residual test, iron and manganese test, alkalinity test, jar test, and turbidity test. Calculations and calibrations will include: solution pump, dosage rates, water flow rates, and solution concentrations.
